Drilling power

For sheer drilling power, this premium Makita is at the top end of the range for combi hammers. It will easily drill 16mm diameter holes in masonry and steel, and 65mm holes in wood. It operates at 0-4500 blows per minute, giving you an intense, rigorous drilling performance that will stand up to the most demanding tasks.

Batteries
As with all the Makitas in the LXT (Lithium-Ion) range, the battery spec is pretty much unbeatable.
This package comes with 2 x 3.0Ah Lithium-Ion (the highest rating for energy density). According to Makita’s estimates, the Lithium-ion batteries have 400% greater run times than their Ni-MH or Ni-Cad counterparts. Best of all they can be recharged in 22 minutes thanks to the air cooled Makstar charger.

Combi drill size and weight
Nice and compact the drills dimensions are 250 x 78 x 257 mm. The weight is 2.2kg. Thanks to the Lithium-ion’s batteries, the 40% weight saving means that this 18 volt combi drill weighs the roughly the same as a 12 volt Ni-MH battery.

Torque
The versatility of this drill extends to its screwdriving performance – Max Hard screwdriving 80Nm, Soft 40Nm. There are also 16 torque settings + drill function.
